Teaching of Philosophy in the post-truth politics era

Abstract

In this text, we try to situate the teaching of philosophy in the midst of the panorama of the post-truth politics, as a new horizon of hegemonic communication of our time. We present some central and harmful characteristics of post-truth politics, such as the communicative polarization of digital bubbles and the viral nature of fakenews, as mainly the result of the expansion of data control over the Internet. Throughout this presentation, we ask ourselves about the relations that these phenomena keep with philosophy: the relation that the post-truth politics holds with truth; how to situate the problem in a broader philosophical understanding of contemporaneity; and how to think the potentiality of the philosophical constructed truth regimes as an immune pedagogical strategy in the chaos of the “post-truth politics era”.

Filipe Ceppas, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

Filipe Ceppas é formado em Filosofia pela UnB (1993), possui mestrado em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1997), doutorado em Educação também pela PUC-Rio (2003) e fez dois estágios pós-doutorais na Universidade Paris VIII. É professor associado da Faculdade de Educação da UFRJ e trabalha na formação de professores, em especial dos licenciandos em Filosofia, com as disciplinas Prática de Ensino de Filosofia e Didática Especial de Filosofia. É professor do PPGF-UFRJ, onde pesquisa temas relacionados à filosofia francesa contemporânea, ensino de filosofia e educação, e atua no Mestrado Profissional do CEFET-Rio (PPFEN), assim como no PROF-FILO (núcleo UFT). Foi coordenador do GT Filosofar e Ensinar a Filosofar da ANPOF, de 2008 a 2012. Coordena atualmente o Laboratório de Ensino de Filosofia Gerd Bornheim da Faculdade de Educação da UFRJ (LEFGB-FE/UFRJ) e o Núcleo de Pesquisa em Filosofia Contemporânea do Programa de Pós-Graduação de Filosofia da UFRJ (NuFFC-PPGF-UFRJ/CNPq). Participa como membro pesquisador do Laboratório de "Recherche sur la Philosophie Pratique et Appliquée" (L.R.Ph.P.A.) da Universidade do Egeu (Rodes-Grécia), na rede "Philosophie de l'Éducation en Praxis".

Raquel Rodrigues Rocha, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

Doutora em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2019), mestre em Filosofia na Universidade Estadual do Ceará(2015), graduada em filosofia pela Universidade Estadual do Ceará (2012). Pesquisadora do Núcleo de Filosofia Francesa Contemporânea (NuFFC) - UFRJ, do Laboratório de Pesquisa e Estudos Foucaultianos (LAPEF) - UECE e do Grupo de Estudos Pós-Coloniais (G-POC) - UECE. Atualmente desenvolve pesquisas na área de Filosofia política, história da filosofia, ética, educação, estética, feminismo e cibercultura. Bellydancer em formação, desenvolve pesquisa a área da dança oriental egípcia, corpo, feminismo e história da arte.
